Fifth Week of Lent ~ Saturday

Updated: Feb 16, 2024

All have sinned and all fall short. No one, not even one person obey the law of man and law of God perfectly to be fully whole. And yet, God did not come for the complete and whole. To embrace the sinners means that He had to step aside from wat people placed the law to expect - perfection.

He became man to be like us, so that NONE could boast superior over another, we all fall short of Him and therefore we continue to bow down and cast our crowns, because our state is not worthy of His saving and yet He saved us,

- Read Romans 3

In the New International Version

- Devotional Thought

If we read about the calling on John the Baptists life. He was here to proclaim that Good New of the Kingdom and to bring people to repentance.

Note ~ not to condemn and to shame.

He himself knew that we, in our humanly state in the world we are in, are wholly unworthy of the Christ. Yet we are offered this gift of His full salvation.

Because what He came to bring wasn’t associated with our perfection, or with us being from one tribe or one family. Being perfect or spotless. No! But that through our faith, we believe He is the only one who is above our lives, the only one worth changing for, the only one worth it all.

The law and rules of our flesh are in place to keep people at bay in their humanity. But the law can never outrun or or overshadow what He says and who He says we are.

We have to learn that our salvation is a gift! And to truly accept that gift, we have to learn the voice of the giver. And when we learn His voice and cherish His gifts, we can lead others to Him. Not to condemnation, but to the realisation that we have all fallen short and yet He still gave His all for us!

- Passage to focus on

“This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished— he did it to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus. since there is only one God, who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through that same faith.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭3‬:‭22‬-‭26‬, ‭30‬ ‭NIV‬‬

A gift, a beautiful gift for ALL of us!

- Prayer

Father,

We can't comprehend that even when we are at our lowest ~ you came for us. You surrendered your position for us. You gave up your life for our lowest moments. And not just for the ones who know you, but the ones who are yet to know you. We thank you for this gift again and again.

- Active idea

Who can you celebrate this gift with? Often we forget the meaning of a gift becuase we haven't fully celebrated and recognised it!

Thank you for joining me today! Hope to see you again soon!

Have a blessed Lent
