"Take delight in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart." Psalm 37vs4
Delighting in the Lord means that your attention is absorbed towards Him, acknolwedging His ways and noticing His hand of grace. But with a life too fast paced and too chaotically packed, we don't house the capacity to release our mind to the freedom to wander and watch for the movement of the Lord in our lives.
The human race has stumbled into a picture of life that is far outside of God's commands when He created the human race. We have hurdled ourselves into a race of seeking and searching. But we have forgotten to simply pay attention.
Forgotten to pay attention to the sunrise and the birds in the sky. To the laugh of a child and the hug of a loved one. To the miracle of a caterpillar into a butterfly and a bud into a flower.
As Julia Cameron says in "The Artists Way"; "The capacity for delight is the gift of paying attention." And sometimes, that attention lies in the stewardship of life as a child of God. A child who longs to feel delight must first learn what it means to have a Father God.
"Teach me your way, Lord, that I may rely on your faithfulness;
give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name.
I will praise you, Lord my God, with all my heart; I will glorify your name forever.
For great is your love toward me; you have delivered me from the depths, from the realm of the dead."
Psalm 86vs11~17
Every single day hands the invitation to step into delight. To walk in joy and dance in peace simply because we have a Father who is the King. As we choose to take ownership of our place in the Kingdom and become aware of what that life offers, our lives with grow in beauty. Not becuase we've been swept off our feet and no longer face trouble ~ Far from it, we become MORE aware of the hurting world ~ but it leans us into the opportunity to cling to our faith more than ever becuase it becomes more real than what we face. Faith shifts the atmosphere, it shifts your thinking, it shifts your direciton and it shifts your attention. Without faith it is impossible to pelase God, but even with a mustard seed of faith we can open the door to see a life filled with delight because that delight in IN HIM. “I delight to do Your will, O my God; Your law is within my heart.” Psalm 40vs8 AMP
