(Ecclesiastes 7vs13 ~ 14 NIV)
“Consider what God has done:
Who can straighten
what he has made crooked?
When times are good, be happy;
but when times are bad, consider this:
God has made the one as well as the other.
Therefore, no one can discover
anything about their future.”
When I read this, do you know what stuck out to me…?
“When times are good, be happy;
but when times are bad, consider this:
God has made the one as well as the other.”
King Solomon says to be happy in the good times, but he doesn’t say be sad in the bad times!
Following from what I spoke about last week, I'm going to continue talking about the position on the heart in relation to our lives.
God is a God of life and where His spirit is, there is freedom.
(2 Corinthians 3vs17 NIV)
"Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom"
This means that sadenss cannot dwell in His presence. A down-hearted spirit cannot hold it’s footing when he is near. Our reaction cannot be based on our circumstances and when bad times come, we cannot let it affect the posture of your heart.
Let’s look at the word posture.
As a professional Ballet dancer and Pilates instructor, I know a thing or two about posture!
In the physical sense, when your body is aligned and in good posture, it means that your skeleton, muscles, organs and nerves can all function well. Not only this, but good intentional posture at all times ensures that the body can function optimally!
Especially in times of struggle, like stretching or carrying a heavy bag, good posture is imperative to avoid injury or strain and to support the action.
There are a couple other words that can be substituted for posture;
Good heart posture isn’t static.
It is active and intentional. It’s got a purpose and it supports ultimate Spirit, soul and body functioning.
If the posture of your heart is anything the same – it means that your heart cannot be negatively affected by your experiences. You can let them strengthen and add to your foundation and you can let them remind you of God’s grace and his love.
But difficult experiences cannot deter the heart that is rooted in goodness, in fullness of life and in happiness.
It’s not a naïve, childlike ignorance.
It’s biblical.
In all things, we have Jesus. So in all things we can succeed.
Out of our heart flows the actions of our life….
Friend, is your heart happy?
And if your heart isn’t happy, is your heart in Jesus?
(Proverbs 15vs13 TPT)
"A cheerful heart puts a smile on your face, but a broken heart leads to depression."
