We were made to be in the presence of the Lord.
Right back in the Garden of Eden, God created people to enjoy them and for them to enjoy Him! We were designed to be in communion and close fellowship with the Lord. The longing for that intimacy is in our DNA.
When we step into each day as an act of Worship, when we throw our hands up in praise no matter the circumstance, we are choosing to live with Him, to let Him guide and lead us, to let Him be the magnified and highlighted one over all your life! It's the place of letting go of everything else and taking full hold of Him, the place of no control but complete freedom!
"Just to be close to you
Just to be close to you
Just to be close to you
Is my desire."
Over and over, again and again, we come back to this one thing.
His Presence.
We often find ourselves lacking. We find a longing for more, for deeper, for purpose....
And the only thing that can fit the mould of our longing is Jesus. Accepting His death and resurrection and claiming His Lordship over our lives.
We were made to be in His presence, just as David speaks about in the Psalms, our entire beings long for His presence.
(Psalm 84vs1~2 ESV)
"How lovely is your dwelling place, O LORD of hosts! My soul longs, yes, faints for the courts of the LORD; my heart and flesh sing for joy to the living God."
What does this mean in our everyday life?
It means doing life with Him! It means letting Him be the one who makes the direction and chooses which turn to take. It means giving Him authority and control.
How do we do that?
We spend time with Him!
And as we spend more time with Him, we unlock a desire to continually devote our time to being with Him.
We allow Him to speak into our days, our thoughts and our choices and we let him convict us of things that are taking us away from what His Word says.
It’s a partnership with the Holy Spirit. A partnership that takes place in the simple and the complex. It’s asking Him how to live all throughout our days. Only He knows where we have come from and where we are going, therefore, only He has our best intentions at heart.
I am comforted to know that my purpose is to Worship Him.
That’s it!
Everything else we do is an overflow of what He plants in us as we Worship Him.
I will seek His presence like Moses did, and know that He will never leave me.
(Exodus 33vs14~15 NIV)
"The Lord replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” Then Moses said to him, “If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here."
