"Home, a distant shore awaiting me
Home, a city that You’re building
Home, I know Your love is leading me home."
This song touched my heart from the moment I heard it. It is peaceful and comforting. It is gently yet weighty in it's portrayal. It speaks far deeper than the surface of the words. It carries an everlasting truth.
Jesus is leading us home
It's raw and real and undoubtedly beautiful.
Listening to this song led me to think about our intentions and ambitions right here and now. I thought about the pace of our lives and the persistence of our culture and society to constantly pull our attention away from the Lord.
We are so caught up in the midst of our life one earth, our daily agenda, appointments and to-do lists, our goals and aspirations... we're so far caught up in the unnecessary that we're skipping past the presence of the Lord....We've stopped living in what He has for us in this very moment and we've forgotten the beauty of making our Home in Him!
He is the beginning and the end.
He is the One we're searching for.
He is the Alpha and Omega.
And if we open our eyes to see Him, we will see that He is using all things to point us back to Him.
He is always drawing us Home.
"Home, I know one day You’re calling me
Home, find me watching, find me ready to go
To my Father and a wedding
What joy and celebrating
How good it is to finally come home To finally come home
Can’t wait to finally come home"
I found a diary entry I wrote a couple months ago which I feel captions my feelings when thinking about how close the Lord is in all things;
"You are my home My Hope My Breath I don't dance for me. Because if I did, I would constantly be disappointed. I dance for Jesus because that's what He told me to do and He loves it when He finds me there. Heart surrendered to Him... I find Him there and He loves when I dance, just for Him."
At the end of the day, all that is around us is going to fade away.
At the end of the day, we will come face to face with Jesus.
At the end of the day, none of the worlds 'sucess' will have any place
At the end of the day, Jesus will be waiting to lead us on...
And I don't know about you, but I want to meet Jesus like an old friend. I want to run to Him arms and find home in His comfort because that is the place I have resided every single day until then.
(Matthew 7vs21~27 ESV)
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’
And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’
Build Your House on the Rock
“Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”
Jesus wants to know us in this life. He wants us to know Him. Setting His Word in your heart and seeking Him first is the foundation to strong faith. He is our rock and salvation. There is something so beautiful and so peaceful about asking Him to seek you and know you because only He knows the real you and He knows what's best for you.
"Home, hear the cloud of witness cheering us on
To a place where streets are paved with gold
Where there is no night or sorrow
Where even death is swallowed
Where God Himself will make His home."
It's time for us to take a big stand in our faith.
Our Christian life goes far further than Sunday morning.
Jesus is our everyhing and in Him we find our reason for being, our meaning for living. He speaks life to our souls, brings hope to dreams and lights the way.
He is the one we cling to because we know that one day we will be with Him in perfect eternity.
How are you making His home in your heart in your present moment? Does your life and your outlet reflect the Lord and what He has done for you? Does your walk of life represent the testimony of His goodness?
I share my story of faith through dancing because that's the moment where I feel most at Home with the Lord and what He's called me to do.... it tells the story of my struggles and my achievements and it tells of my hope in Him.
(Jeremiah 15vs19 NLT)
"If you return to me, I will restore you so you can continue to serve me. If you speak good words rather than worthless ones, you will be my spokesman. You must influence them; do not let them influence you!"
