There is power in your declaration.
There is SO much power in your spoken word confirming Gods Word.
The Bible says there is the power of life and death in the tongue.
We hold the power to release or without blessings and cursing through our choices and our words.
(Proverbs 18vs21 ESV)
"Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits."
Somehow, we allow ourselves to act in this way when things are good. We easily lift up our hands in praise and thanksgiving and rejoice in the celebratory moments....
And we see this in the Scriptures as well. We see David worshipping God for victories and triumphs, we see Miriam leading the Israelites in a dance of celebration…
(Psalm 32vs11 AMP)
"Be glad in the Lord and rejoice, you righteous [who actively seek right standing with Him];
Shout for joy, all you upright in heart."
But what else we see demonstrated in the Scriptures is the honesty of bad times. There’s a place to take the real, heartbreaking moment to God and say; “Lord I can’t deal with this anymore” and there is a place to speak to the sorrow and tell it about your God.
When we live aware of the Spirit realm, when we live alert to the enemy’s tactics to distract and destroy, we will be awake to the reality of not accepting his games.
(Luke 10vs19 NLT)
"Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you."
And when the trial comes, we can stand in the foundation of our faith and declare what God says over what we see.
Miracles happen, and we see that in scripture. But bad times come as well, and we also see that in scripture!
We need to learn to live like Job in the hardship. Remember that nothing that happened to him was a reflection of him, it was a tactic of the enemy to lure him away from God and pull him out of his strong faith.
And whether the book of Job is based on an actual man or whether it’s just a story… it’s in the Bible for us to learn from and to model our life around.
When all was taken from Job, he was sick, alone, hungry and homeless…. he didn’t take his eyes off of the Lord. When he was in dire circumstances, He kept himself fixed on the truth. When nothing was good and he had no reason to praise,
He still spoke the truth of God.
He lift his pain, but he lifted his praise.
(Job 1vs20~22 NIV)
"At this, Job got up and tore his robe and shaved his head. Then he fell to the ground in worship and said:
'Naked I came from my mother’s womb,
and naked I will depart.
The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away;
may the name of the Lord be praised.”
In all this, Job did not sin by charging God with wrongdoing.'"
When Jesus was born in the stable, after a difficult and very long journey and to a vulnerable young couple, all the odds were against them and his very life was in danger by the kings that ruled the earth.
Yet in the cold and wet stable with the animals and feeding manger where our Lord lay, Mary lifted up he song to the Lord.
(Luke 1vs46~49 NIV)
"And Mary said:
'My soul glorifies the Lord
and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
for he has been mindful
of the humble state of his servant.
From now on all generations will call me blessed,
for the Mighty One has done great things for me
- holy is his name.
When the Israelites where in bondage by the Egyptians and Moses appearing to Pharaoh DIDN'T MAKE SENSE. More than that, it risked His life - he still followed the call of God to plead for Pharaoh to let the slaves go.
And her didn’t just do this life threatening, dangerous, senseless act once or twice, he went back multiple times.
Because God told him to!
And when they were through the trial of that moment, the people rejoiced on the other side of the Red Sea.
(Exodus 15vs1~2 NIV)
"Then Moses and the children of Israel sang this song to the Lord, and spoke, saying:
'I will sing to the Lord,
For He has triumphed gloriously!
The horse and its rider
He has thrown into the sea!
The Lord is my strength and song,
And He has become my salvation;
He is my God, and I will praise Him;'"
We can live out of joy. We can live out of peace. We can live out of thankfulness. We can live out of love.
Because God told us to.
God told us that in Him we will find everything no we need and in Him, all things come together for His glory.
Even when it doesn’t look good now, it will be used for His glory.
These words of life, words of declaration and words of truth from God to You, whether it be straight from scripture or personal messages implanted in your Spirit… they are your weapon. The Word of the Lord is alive and living and sharper than a double edge sword. That means that it cuts on both sides - it’s an attack and defence - it’s a shield and a weapon.
Speaking what God says over what you see is the key. Even when nothing changes or things get worse. When the symptoms increase and the battle extends… His Word stands firm.
When you’ve been battling it for years and you’re at the end of your rope…, His Word stands firm.
Because what we face lasts just this lifetime, but we will spend forever in perfection with Him.
So isn’t it the biggest gift to have the chance to praise Him in my pain, because I won’t be able to do that for all eternity!
It’s hard to choose and it’s testing to hold onto. But it’s the truth
That's why I love the song "Catch the Wind" by Melissa Helser. She speaks about it being written in a time when she had been diagnosed with a chronic illness and was feeling weak and like she couldn't do it. She speaks of the Lord instructing her in this season to Praise Him! TO Worship! TO declare what He Says... and this song was birthed.
When you come into AGREEMENT with the Lord!

Catch the Wind ~ Lyrics by Melissa Helser
I am strong and full of life I am steadfast, no compromise I lift my sails, to the sky I'm gonna catch the wind I'm gonna catch the wind
I am bold, no fear inside Spread my wings, open my life Like an eagle, whose home is the sky I'm gonna catch the wind I'm gonna catch the wind
Your faithfulness will never let me down I'm confident I'll see Your goodness now I know You hear my heart, I'm singing out There's nothing that can stop Your goodness now
I am bold, no fear inside Spread my wings, open my life Like an eagle, whose home is the sky I'm gonna catch the wind I'm gonna catch the wind
Your faithfulness will never let me down I'm confident I'll see Your goodness now I know You hear my heart, I'm singing out There's nothing that can stop Your goodness now
Like standing on the edge Of a mountainside I can feel the wind stirring Lifting me up high I was born into freedom I was made to fly
I am strong and full of life I am steadfast, no compromise I lift my sails, to the sky! I'm gonna catch the wind I'm gonna catch the wind!
Your faithfulness will never let me down I'm confident I'll see Your goodness now I know You hear my heart, I'm singing out There's nothing that can stop Your goodness now
Nothing nothing nothing There's nothing that can stop Your goodness now Oh there's nothing Oh there's nothing that's gonna stop Your goodness now Oh nothing nothing nothing Oh nothing nothing nothing Is gonna stop His goodness now There's nothing that can stop Your goodness now
I pray that you are encouraged and filled with strength from the Lord as you learn to declare HIS TRUTH!
